Where did the time go?

This post title is two-fold. First, this was one of those days for me where I was continually surprised with how late in the day it was. Perhaps it was because my day started with a 10-mile run right after breakfast. Yeah, I'm pretty tired. Sorry if it makes my post sound stupid. We also had a series of tasks to achieve today, and when we returned from the last of them, it was already 6PM. I am posting so late today because my darling husband and I watched "Fanboys" together first. Very funny movie with lots of fun cameos.

The other level of time-slippage occurred when I realized it was over eight years ago that I introduced my best friend to her husband at my wedding. They were (I kid you not!) the maid of honor and best man, and they married three years and nearly a month later. That's the kind of story I'd usually hear and scoff, saying "that never happens!" Well, it did! And I'm so glad. It really makes getting together with them fun, particularly since they also have a little boy. Ours is almost to the age where they'll really be able to start playing together. I hope we can see them again soon--we are just far enough away to really need to plan visits in advance.

Any choral singing fans out there, I recommend (if you are not already aware of him) ANYTHING by Eric Whitacre. I have been fortunate enough to perform several of his works with various choirs. Today he debuted (via YouTube) a new project, in which he asked singers to videotape themselves singing one part of his work, "Sleep," with the music in a headphone so all the viewer of the video could hear was the singer's voice. He then chose and wove videos together to make a "virtual choir." The result is amazing, and I think you should watch it. I only wish I had known this was happening beforehand so I could try to participate. Maybe if he does another one! Anyway, here it is. You may want to listen with headphones, I couldn't hear it well without them.
